HALFWAY THERE!

Hi everyone, as ever, thanks for your support. I wanted to let you know that the first draft of 'Queer As Folklore' is oficially halfway there.

I have completed 8 chapters and have another 8 to write. It is worth saying there is still a lot of work that has to take place on delivery of the manuscript; a first draft is exactly what it sounds like. Edits, changes, fact-checking, revisions and sensitivity readings are the next step, all of which takes time. Still I wanted to keep you all abreast of every milestone we hit so you know what's happening.

The current chapter I am working on is about werewolves and their place in the queer mythical lexicon.
As a fun little taster, I invite you to read a classic werewolf story, 'Bisclavret' written by Marie de France in the 12th century.

The story already shows some of the well known werewolf tropes, but has (I believe) a decidedly 'homoerotic' ending. I am using 'Bisclavret' in my introduction to this chapter and you can read a translation of the text by Joan Shoaf here: https://people.clas.ufl.edu/jshoaf/files/bisclavret.pdf

I hope you are all well. Thanks for your continued support, can't wait to share the finished product with you all!
